Stopping A Divorce
You married your true love. You planned on happily-ever-after. Yet somehow, you find yourself fighting to stop a divorce. Is there anything to be done? There is! Hold onto hope for your marriage. You can save your marriage if you are willing to apply these tips from those who know how to stop a divorce.
1. Marriage requires time
A good marriage is much like a garden; it does not occur spontaneously. It must be carefully tended and cared for, or it will be overrun and die. One of the best things you could ever do for your marriage is to spend time with your spouse. Spend time in intimate conversation, and enjoying the activities that you have always enjoyed together. Your spouse must be your Number One.
2. Express yourself constructively
It is vital that you practice good communication skills. You must express your feelings and dissatisfacitons, but you must do so in an effort to find understanding with your spouse. If you attempt to injure your spouse through fighting, then your marriage will surely suffer. You must apologize quickly and be understanding in your complaints. Pay careful attention to their words; this will show them how much you care.
3. Create an open environment
Your spouse should be the one with whom you canshare your most intimate feelings. You must be open to your spouse’s actions and motives if you want to create a healthy environment for emotional connection. You can do this by never criticizing or belittling their opinions or ideas. You may disagree, and that’s okay, but express your disagreement carefully and with love.
4. Be humble
Try to see and respect your spouse’s point-of-view, and be willing to acknowledge that you likely have contributed to the problem, regardless of your intentions. Work out a plan with your spouse on how you can both work on improving the marriage, yourselves, and your relationship. Hopefully, they will try to do the same. If you do this, you will have a good chance to preserve your marriage.
